Introduction

Ashly is a couples therapist with a strong interest in relational and attachment-focused work. Her interest in couples therapy grew from working with individual clients and recognising how much of our emotional wellbeing, strengths, and difficulties are shaped within our relationships. She has also explored attachment and developmental perspectives through her training and academic work in couples therapy. In sessions, Ashly helps couples look beyond the immediate disagreement to understand the patterns that develop between them. She pays attention to how partners communicate, respond to one another, and become caught in recurring cycles of conflict, withdrawal, or disconnection. When conversations become highly activated, she focuses on slowing the interaction down, using grounding and breathing techniques, and bringing co-regulation into the space so that both partners can engage more safely and openly. Her experience includes working with couples in long-distance relationships who are navigating compatibility and decisions about marriage, new parents figuring out parenting together, couples working through infidelity, and partners experiencing sexual and emotional intimacy concerns. She also works with couples exploring whether they are ready to move toward marriage or a greater level of commitment. Ashly is attentive to the broader context of a couple's relationship, including family and relationship histories and the ways these can influence how partners relate to each other. She takes a thoughtful approach to conflict and looks for signs that one partner may be feeling silenced, overwhelmed, or pressured within the interaction. For couples experiencing recurring conflict, emotional distance, communication difficulties, relationship uncertainty, or intimacy concerns, Ashly offers a relational approach that focuses on understanding the couple's patterns while helping both partners feel heard.
